Clinical Trials -
|
Clinical trials are carefully
designed research studies, which examine the safety and effectiveness of HIV
medicines and therapies.
Interested patients are seen in the
protocol screening clinic, where they are guided
through the screening process. No referral is necessary.
The University of Miami AIDS Clinical
Research Unit has a variety of clinical trials that are currently enrolling new
patients:
|
Treatment Naïve
(studies for patients who have
never taken medications to treat their HIV infection)
Treatment experienced
(studies
for patients who are currently receiving treatment for their HIV infection)
Complications of HIV
(studies that deal with the
complications of HIV disease, for example opportunistic
infections, elevated lipids, etc.)
