Civil Rights:
Mr. Tennyson was lead counsel in Camden I v. Dunkle, 805 F.2d 1530 (11th Cir. 1986), 946 F.2d 768 (11th Cir. 1991). In this case the Class Plaintiffs received almost $3,000,000 in interest for monies they had deposited into the Clerk of Court's accounts. The Clerk would always return principal but not interest he had earned on the Plaintiff's deposits, that is until this lawsuit. The class action involved 13 years of litigation on due process and "taking" issues under Section 1983 of the Civil Rights Act. The second appeal established the concept that class counsel should be compensated from the class fund at 25% of the fund and not by lodestar hour fee calculations.
