FREQUENTLY
ASKED QUESTIONS

Welcome to
Student Photo IDs. In this world of guns and violence we
need to assure that our students are safe in school. The
Sign Network can help. Here are some answers to the most
Frequently Asked Questions.
1.
Do I need to wait months for Student IDs to be Produced
ANSWER: No. There are a number of options for you to
choose from. Lead time for a school with an attendance of
approximately 1400 students is 4 weeks for all IDs to be
produced.
2.
What is The Sign Networks' Student Photo IDs made of
ANSWER: The Sign Network offers ALL
School Facilities a School/Student Photo ID card that
will not rip, tear or fade. Our Student/School Photo ID
cards are made of a UV Stable, PVC that embeds the
photograph of the students into the pvc by heat. You
cannot alter the photo on this ID because it IS NOT a
laminated card. Our Photo IDs will last the whole year
for school. The only worry is the Student actually losing
or trying to destroy it themselves.
3.
What is the difference between a Photographers' Laminated
Student Photo ID and The Sign Network's Student Photo ID
Card
ANSWER: Most photographers offer schools laminated photo
ids that are clearly made from the original school
photographs that are taken every year. These laminated
badges, after a period of time, rip, tear and fade or
even delaminate. These types of badges are easily altered
and copied. With The Sign Network's School/Student Photo
IDs, altering the photo or card is NOT possible, because
the image is embedded into the card. You would literally
have to destroy the card to attempt to alter it.
4.
Why do Schools Need Student Photo IDs
ANSWER: To keep violence out of
schools, to be able to recognize that a student/child
actually belongs on school property, to identify a
Student roaming the halls of a school facility, etc. When
a Student is in the Hall a School Resource Officer can
look at the ID Badge and contact the main office to
request where the child/student actually belongs at that
time. Any person not having an actual Photo ID from the
School can then be escorted to the School Front Office
for detainment or off of the School Grounds. These badges
also help if in fact a child is hurt in an accident at
the school and cannot speak. With the ID on his/her
person the faculty members can identify the student/child
immediately.
5.
How Often Does a School Need to Change Photo IDs
ANSWER:
Because
our Children/Students change every day, their facial
features change with them. Having new IDs issued each
year with the important information, new picture and
school year helps curb the prospect of fake or altered
IDs. It also eliminates the suspect of a student using
someone elses IDs.
6.
What is a Break-Away Lanyard
ANSWER: The SIgn Network offers a
Break-Away Lanyard for those Schools wishing students to
wear the IDs around their necks. A Break-Away Lanyard is
a flat woven nylon neckband that if caught on another
object will break apart as to not injure the person
wearing the ID. There are NO metal pieces on our lanyards
that can be used as weapons in or on School Properties.
7.
What is The Ultra Secure Hologram? What is the Advantage
of This Hologram
ANSWER: The Sign Network's Student/School Photo IDs are
produced with an overlaminate called "Ultra
Secure". This is a hologram that is actually printed
on the finished badge. When tipped in the light the
hologram appears showing the words "Ultra
Secure" and a shape of a key. If there is any doubt
about a person being on school grounds, just tip the
badge in the light to assure that it shows the words
"Ultra Secure" and that in fact the badge was
produced for your school. If you do not see the hologram,
the ID was not produced for your facility.

look around throughout our website to see what The Sign
Network can offer your School or Facility.
