Ok, we have now had our second and third plaintiffs meetings. We now have around 500 plaintiffs (people who have signed up to join the suit) - by far the largest number of plaintiffs in a uniform suit to date. We also have dozens of horror stories of parents and students being mistreated by school administrators. All of that will be part of the suit. I have no question that we could continue holding meetings for some time and continue gaining hundreds of new plaintiffs at each meeting. The behavior of Glenn Reynolds and SOME (certainly not all) school administrators guarantees it. Unfortunately, in order make progress, we have to end the process of taking on new plaintiffs and move on to filing the suit.
Our attorney, Bob Norgard, has stated that he will be filing the suit next week.
Thank you to everyone who has turned out to these meeting and taken the time to fill out the volumes of paperwork required to do this thing legally. We are moving forward.
Greetings to all P.A.C. members and all concerned citizens,
Anyone planning to join the lawsuit to fight mandatory school uniforms (who did not do so at our previous meeting) should meet with us at the Lake Mirror Civic Center Theater in Lakeland on Tuesday, August 17th at 3:30 OR 7:00 P.M. Robert Norgard, our attorney will be signing up plaintiffs and answering questions. If you wish to participate in the suit, it is vital that you attend one of these meetings if you have not already signed up at the Winter Haven meeting.
PAC will be holding a Voter Registration Drive at this meeting, so if you want register for the first time, change parties, or need to update your address on your Voter's Registration card, please take advantage of this opportunity. Reynolds may not care whether or not you are registered, but PAC does.
The Civic Center is on Lake Mirror Drive, just south of where Main Street goes around Lake Mirror. Here is an interactive map showing the area. The address is 707 E. Lemon Street, Lakeland. If you are coming from Bartow, take Hwy. 98 (towards Lakeland), turn LEFT on E. Main St. Follow this road to the right and Civic Center is on the left.
Hope to see you there,
Darlene
