Membership as an ACTIVE member is available to those involved in Round Dance cueing & teaching, and who are residents of Florida a minimum of six months each year. Membership as a CUER member is available to those involved in Round Dance cueing and who are residents of Florida a minimum of three months each year; cueing may be in Round Dance groups or in comjunction with Square Dance groups. Membership is also available to out-of-state residents but their participation in Council business is limited. Application forms for membership may be obtained from any Council Executive Board member.
The 2000 Fall event, with a program presented by National Leaders Kay & Joy Read will be held the 1st weekend in December; the Council member for information on this 2/3 December event is Larry Roberts, phone 941-815-9457, E-mail larry.w.roberts@worldnet.att.net.
The location of this event will be the Stardust Center in Plant City.
The 2000 Spring event, with a program presented by Council Members, is always held the third weekend in March; the Council member for information on this 18/19 March event is Bev Landwehr, phone 407-877-8677, E-mail LBeve42516@aol.com.
This event will be held at the Stardust Center in Plant City also.
The Council actively participates in the presentation of Round Dancing at the Florida State Square & Round Dance Convention held during the Memorial Day Weekend, usually at the Convention Center in Lakeland, providing the cueing and the teaching of the Rounds. Information for the 2000 convention may be obtained from Tom and Audrey Philips by phone 904-304-5273, or by email rndancing1@aol.com.
Another major event each year in our state is the Knothead Konvention convened during Labor Day Weekend, again at the Convention Center, Lakeland. The Council does not directly participate in the administration of this event but actively attends. Round Dance leaders for the 2000 event are Wayne & Barbara Blackford, and Henri & Shiela Arsenault.
