The taupe paper on which this colored
pencil portrait was drawn is a warm neutral tone which closely resembles
that of the cat's coat and the wooden rail on which he is stretched for
his afternoon snooze. All the unwanted background was dropped out,
leaving only the plant stems and a few parts of leaves. This is the
