A recap of the show's last year

The Episode Guide has been updated to the last episode of the series. The show was cancelled as of 5/24/95. The last three episodes were shown July 12, 19 and 26, 1995 on CBS, and were never rerun. The final show was called "Tranquillity Base" and did offer some kind of closure for the season, if not the series. Syndication just began its third complete go-round July 29, 1998 on the A&E cable station.

The show cost over a million dollars for each episode, so hopes for pickup by another network quickly faded. All the Redmond soundstage sets were torn down and a public auction was held the weekend of July 7, 1995. Everything was sold except a few souvenirs given to the cast and crew. Some items are still offered for sale occasionally on Netnews and other online services. Caveat emptor!

Merchandise

Universal Studios Florida no longer carries any NX collectibles, as of July 1996. Some of the tourist shops in Roslyn, Washington still have merchandise, including The Brick, which is a real bar of long history in its own right, The Roslyn Cafe with the famous camel mural on the side of the building, Ruth-Anne's General Store a.k.a. Central Sundries, a real store before and after the series, Cicely's Gift Shop in the building that housed Dr. Fleischman's office, and Memory Makers, right next to the KBHR studio. See the FAQ for addresses and phone numbers. If you visit, be aware that the shops aren't always open, especially in the winter. Try on summer weekends. Treasure that Roslyn Cafe t-shirt if you got one (and don't stick it in the wash with a red sock like I did!). You can also order a couple of items at The TV Store. Please use caution ordering anything over the web!

What I'm looking for

Still looking for good pictures of cast members or of your visit to Roslyn. I can have them scanned in if you want to mail me copies. Examples of what I'd like are on my pics page.

I'd also like to hear about your Northern Exposure site, or the story of your visit to the soundstage or the Roslyn set. Maybe I'll finish my own travelogue, or that fourth season script I started...
