I am a Ph. D. graduate in the school of education at TTU and I am conducting a research study on How Emotion Effects Cognition in Music Participation.
I was hoping that you would possibly allow your students to complete the survey. At the end of the survey I have provided a space for the students to list their instructor/course and a place for their names. If you would provide extra credit for participating I will email the names back to you.
The survey is divided into three phases. In the first phase, participants will provide music experience memories that evoke strong emotions. The second phase will help determine cognitive styles/traits, and the last phase will be demographics. The survey will take 20-30 minutes depending how much each participant writes about their music experience memories.
I am looking for participants who are band, choir, or orchestra ALUMNI (separate survey for each music ensemble) who participated in EITHER elementary, middle/junior high, high school, college, and/or private music organization (such as drum corps). Participants who are non-music majors are strongly encouraged to complete the survey.
