Telgar Weyr's PC history began at the end of November of 1997, when it was officially decided to close Benden.  Most of the moving occurred between then and during the month of December which is why the detailed history begins with December of 1997. Some 'entries' are for a single month while others are spread across several - this was done dependent on the actual amount of changes/history that occurred. In Jan of 2002 I added the VR dates to the history - these were all pulled from the game's time conversion and should be extremely close if not exact :) Telgar's PC history started during Turn 20.

      December 1997 - March 1998 ~ Turn 20 through the beginning of Turn 22, 10th Pass

Sionelle resigns as Weyrlingmaster in the midst of training - the loss of Weyrlings that result from the move from Benden to Telgar too much for her after her many turns of duty. T'saren, an assistant for the first time for this class, was named in her place temporarily. Within a couple of sevendays, however, Kerlyn is made the permanent replacement, Emlyn also serving as an assistant. Nimiriel and her gold, Daelyth, transfer from Igen Weyr to Telgar. The incoming Bendenites are greeted by the current Head Steward, Rennick, his wife and Headwoman, Richenda, and Rennick's Assistant Steward, Sandar. With T'fian remaining at Benden, K'tyn names Ursa as Weyrsecond for Telgar Weyr.

      April 1998 - May 1998 ~ Turn 22 of the 10th Pass

Jehrina's Leilanth takes to the skies in the first flight since the move from Benden to Telgar. As many had wagered, K'tyn's Prometh catches the queen again, solidifying his position as Telgar Weyrleader. Sionelle is named Weyrsecond by K'tyn, M'kla deciding to retire from the position.

June 1998 ~ Beginning of Turn 23 of the 10th Pass

Leilanth and Prometh's clutch, the first since the move from Benden, breaks shells on the new sands of Telgar Weyr. The resulting class, which includes S'dar (former Asst. Steward) and bronze Chezroth, Aurian and brown Kvasith, Jayna and brown Sioneth, Kharty and blue Virroth, Neliea and blue Xylath, Arallia and green Miyath and A'ser and green Yasinth, become the first weyrling class of the new regime at Telgar. Kerlyn again trained the class as Weyrlingmaster with Maylia and Aladis to aide her.

July 1998 - September 1998 ~ Middle of Turn 23 through the beginning of Turn 24, 10th Pass

The Weyrleaders called a meeting one evening and Jehrina announces that she will be retiring, with Kindre being named the next Senior Weyrwoman. Herath rose within a sevenday of the meeting. K'tyn's Prometh was favored to win and remain at Telgar's helm. Some scuffle in the skies, however, kept that from coming true. Instead, Herath was caught by a young Istan dragon, Talibenth. His rider, M'hryn, was named as the next Weyrleader. Rennick's sight, having gone bad, causes him to retire as Head Steward. Richenda falls ill and retires from her position of Headwoman. Rhiallya is named to replace her and has things running as well as always. Meli is named as one of Skyfire's Wingseconds while T'saren promotes Aurian to Wingsecond of Dawnslight.

October 1998 - November 1998 ~ Middle to the end of Turn 24, 10th Pass

As a way of sharing knowledge and Threadfighting techniques, High Reaches Weyr and Telgar Weyr decide to exchange a number of rider/dragon pairs. Each Weyr provided 30-33 pairs to the other Weyr, which is the number to make up a full wing, although each Weyr individually decided how to assign the riders. Amongst the Reaches riders being exchanged were Lirra and green Kaath, R'ehn and blue Bhalth, K'dar and brown Leventh, Tiya and green Genevith, Keriann and brown Nyth, Kena and green Cymrith, and M'rgan and brown Ularrith. Kylandra and blue Fialth and C'lus and blue Olynth transfer in a few sevendays later from the Reaches as well.

      bar.gif (4459 bytes)

      December 1998 ~ Early in Turn 25, 10th Pass

Kindre's Herath takes to the skies, and it is M'hyrn's bronze Talibenth that catches her again, his position of Weyrleader firmly instilled.

      bar.gif (4459 bytes)

      January 1999 - February 1999 ~ End of Turn 25, beginning of Turn 26, 10th Pass

Herath and Talibenth's clutch hatches. The resulting clutch includes Saskia (former Asst. Steward) and gold Rinath, Th'lon and bronze Algizth, R'yn and brown Dagazth, Bronwynn and brown Fehuth, Trilana (later called Trila) and blue Ansuth, Syrali (later called Syri) and blue Hagalath, Meara and green Isath, and Daffela and green Teiwazth. Maylia becomes Weyrlingmaster with M'kla, Kharty and D'ton as her assistants. Sionelle resigns her position as Weyrsecond, A'lex named by M'hyrn to replace her. M'kla and Torinth are lost * between * during some Weyrling lessons. The actual cause is unknown, though most at the Weyr suspect M'kla's heart as the culprit. The loss was great to any who knew her. M'rgan is promoted to Wingleader of Skyfire, replacing K'tyn who moves to take the position of Wingsecond in Aerie.

      bar.gif (4459 bytes)

March 1999 - June 1999 ~ Middle of Turn 26 to the middle of Turn 27, 10th Pass

M'hryn and Talibenth disappear. Prior to leaving, A'lex is named Acting Weyrleader in his absence by the departing Weyrleader under the assumption that he will return. Herath rises again, however, and bronze Nraith catches her. A'lex is officially named Telgar's Weyrleader. Rhiallya takes a short leave of absence, temporarily replaced by Kailia until her return. Selaye, who ran the nurseries at Telgar, is promoted to Head Steward. J'lyn leaves his position as Thunderbolt Wingsecond to become Weyrsecond under A'lex. S'dar's bronze Chezroth catches High Reaches Weyr Senior Weyrwoman Laurelin's Elisanth and moves there to become their Weyrleader. Ursa steps down as Weyrsecond, T'saren named by A'lex to replace her.

      July 1999 ~ End of Turn 27, 10th Pass

Nimiriel's Daelyth takes to the skies. Igen bronze Palineth, N'var's lifemate, catches the queen.

August 1999 - February 2000 ~ Beginning of Turn 28 through the middle of Turn 30, 10th Pass

Daelyth and Palineth's clutch breaks shell. Among the newly Impressed are M'kon and bronze Nioth, I'sai and bronze Taralyth, Ceria and brown Carabeth, Nicoli and brown Cerineth, Leya and brown Tovith, Jennifer (later called Jenni) and blue Jaereth, M'dei and green Gaiath, and J'var and green Miseth. They are trained by Weyrlingmaster Maylia, assisted by Alyssa and Arallia. Kena is named as one of Thunderbolt's Wingseconds.

      bar.gif (4459 bytes)

      March 2000 ~ End of Turn 30, 10th Pass

Saskia's Rinath rises in her first flight, captured by I'sai's bronze Taralyth.

During a Threadfall that proves to be nastier than initially thought, Herath's wing is scored very badly. The initial diagnosis from the Dragonhealers is that Herath will be unable to fly for some time and probably will never be able to fly to the heights or length of time needed to sustain a good clutch. Considering the current health of her dragon and the needs of the Weyr, Kindre, along with A'lex and Nimiriel, decide that retiring her position would be in the best interests of all involved. Nimiriel is named Senior Weyrwoman, Kindre the last of the Benden queenriders who made the move to Telgar to lead the Weyr.

April 2000 - May 2000 ~ Beginning to the middle of Turn 31, 10th Pass

Rinath and Taralyth's clutch hatches. T'dan and bronze Ikolth, Merielan and brown Alerith, T'kar and brown Fasolth, M'teh and blue Daruth, Terryll and blue Rheinth, Aisling and green Sielth and Lanryi and green Valrieth are among those who Impress. They are led by Maylia and her assistants, K'ryo, Ceria and I'sai. Rhiallya retires from her position of Headwoman, Timbril taking the reins of Telgar's Staff and Living Cavern.

      bar.gif (4459 bytes)

June 2000 - September 2000 ~ End of Turn 31 through the end of Turn 32, 10th Pass

E'vrin and, a day after, Leya are named as Thunderbolt's newest Wingseconds by Wingleader Kassima, Kena leaving her position. Another promotion, this time in Dawnslight, sends Lanryi to the ranks of Wingsecond as well. Neliea is named as Dawnslight's new Wingleader while I'sai moves to take the reins as one of Skyfire's Wingseconds. K'tyn's Prometh catches Igen's Senior Weyrwoman Sarai's gold Cyrath and he leaves Telgar to be the new Weyrleader there.

      bar.gif (4459 bytes)

      October 2000 ~ Beginning of Turn 33, 10th Pass

Nimiriel's Daelyth rises, caught by A'lex's Nraith and resulting in his continuation as Weyrleader. Circumstances lead E'vrin to step down as Wingsecond for Thunderbolt, Wingleader Kassima relying on Leya as her lone second in the Wing. Ceria is promoted to Wingsecond for Skyfire, still led by M'rgan.

      bar.gif (4459 bytes)

November 2000 - December 2000 ~ Middle to the end of Turn 33, 10th Pass

Nraith and Daelyth's clutch hatches. Kichevio and green Saulith, H'lor and green Makarath, Alessandra and green Kiyoth, Talisha and green Imanath, Laidan and blue Yehlth, Lorrin and blue Kaneth, Greylin and brown Kheprith, K'ran and bronze Indrath and Tarlo and gold Cariath are among the group who Impresses that day. They are lead by Maylia as Weyrlingmaster, assisted by A'len, Ainsley, Aisling and Merielan.

      bar.gif (4459 bytes)

      January 2001 - March 2001 ~ Turn 34 to the start of Turn 35, 10th Pass

Selaye retires from her position of Head Steward, Qulan named to replace her some time afterwards. T'kar is named by Kassima to take the vacant Wingsecond position in Thunderbolt.

As decreed by Weyrleader A'lex, Former Weyrseconds T'saren and Ursa have been yanked from their wings and assigned to Inter-Weyr Liason positions. T'saren being assigned to the Southern Continent, and Ursa working with Benden. Their reported new jobs involve studying Thread fighting techniques and adapting new methodologies for Telgar's fighting styles. The Weyrleader himself has stepped down from his position of six years as Wingleader of Shadowflame in favor of Greenrider K'brin and his lifemate Reahoth, and has taken over the Starblaze Wingleadership from Ryialla. No one is really sure WHY yet, and the Weyrleader isn't very forthcoming with answers. Even more surprisingly, though, was the removal of J'lyn and Aurian from THIER wings to serve under him in Starblaze. And just to confuse things, Fiora (who transferred in from Fort) still retains her Starblaze Wingsecond's knot. Meli is moved from her position as Shadowflame Wingsecond back to Thunderbolt as a Wingrider.

Thregga's gold Benneth (NPC) rises, caught by Leya's Tovith.  The resultant clutch is healthy and strong, Maylia continuing her position as Weyrlingmaster.

      April 2001 - June 2001 ~ Turn 35 and teh beginning of Turn 36, 10th Pass

Neliea steps down as Wingleader of Dawnslight, M'teh taking the helm and appointing K'ran as Wingsecond. Schmitt, blue Kazeth's rider of Igen Weyr, transfers into Telgar.  The reason behind the transfer is mostly a mystery, though some whispers of the word, "Duck" abound.  Following her is Macami, brown Tivuketh's rider and also of Igen, once her duties as Assistant Weyrlingmaster are completed at that Weyr.  Herath rises, much to most of the Weyr's surprise, and is caught by High Reaches Weyr's S'dar (who Impressed at Telgar) Chezroth.  A clutch of thirty-one eggs finds itself on Telgar's hatching sands.

      bar.gif (4459 bytes)

      July 2001 ~ Middle of Turn 36, 10th Pass

A'lex and Nraith packed up their extra riding straps and went *between* to Sunrise Valley Cothold. They were headed there to visit Ximena and Alenon, A'lex's parents, at the vineyard they tend in the mountains southeast of Benden Hold. When a Flight of Dragons from Benden showed up overhead for Threadfall, Nraith and A'lex joined them in what turned out to be an unusually windy event. Whether it was an errant, random gust of wind or a miscalculation on rider and dragon's part no one is sure, but Nraith disappeared *between* sending out blinding sensations of pain to all those in the area. He re-appeared moments later, plummeting from the skies, one wingsail shredded by Thread and rider unconscious. Benden's quick thinking Weyrleader was able to pull off a daring save which kept both dragon and rider from plummeting to their deaths. Several hours later, when A'lex regained consciousness, Aurian and J'lyn were already at his Threadscored side. He put Aurian in sole command of Starblaze, and handed his Weyrleader's knot to J'lyn with the orders that he should retain it until Telgar once again had a Weyrleader who could fly. Then he yelled at them for dawdling and ordered them both back to work. Benden Weyr has dispatched a team of dragonhealers to tend to Nraith's wounds, but it will be quite some time before the Bronze will fly again, and even longer before he'll fly Fall, which he adamantly says he will do. According to the latest report, A'lex is faring relatively well under his mother's direct care, although all the Healers agree he'll probably heal much faster just to get away from her.  J'lyn becomes Acting Weyrleader as a result.

On the 21st day of the 9th month of the 36th turn, the dragons of Telgar rose over the Weyr itself to take on the dreaded Thread. The winds were gusty and the Fall was heavy but it was also thankfully short (only 2 hours ICly). The dragons were successful in keeping the Thread from the grounds of their beloved Weyr but this success came at a price. There were many minor injuries, a few serious ones, and the death of one pair. C'harl and his lifemate, bronze Reginalth, had been members of Skyfire since before anyone could remember. The veteran pair (C'harl in his seventies and Reginalth in his mid-fifties) were respected by everyone though of late their Threadfighting skills had been called into question. While returning to the formation after having helped Sielth and Aisling, Reginalth's wing crumpled and the pair went into *between*, never to return. After the Fall and after giving C'harl's mate, Nelly, the terrible news, M'rgan resigned as Wingleader of Skyfire. Luck was once again more important than skill and this time the luck wasn't with them.  Macami is named as the new Wingleader for Skyfire.

Herath and Chezroth's clutch breaks shell on the 1st day of the 10th month of the 36th turn, perhaps signaling happier times at the Weyr again.  Among those who Impress that day are J'an and Bronze Eneryth, Lenka and Brown Robinth, Roma and Green Desdemath, Kiharu and Green Taericeth, F'lone and Brown Hroth, Zaidra and Brown Ymedath, Tarien and Gold Mirrath, and Savanna and Brown Iagoth.   Weyrlingmaster Maylia names I'sai on bronze Taralyth, Alessandra on green Kiyoth, Jazmin on brown Chaeth, Laidan on blue Yehlth, and Ainsley on green Inzarath to assist her. Corwin and Shawnah, Candidates who did not find their lifemates that day, go on to become Head Steward and Headwoman, respectively. [OOC Note: NC crashed a week and a day after the Hatching.  They couldn't get ahold of the machine so they had to load up their last backup - which, of course, was from the Sunday morning of the Hatching. We had to Reimpress everyone to their dragons OOCly.  We all knew that things went too smooth that night ;) ]

Nyne and green Psylth transfer in and make Telgar their new home. J'ven and bronze Londoth, formerly of of Igen Weyr, transfer to Telgar from High Reaches.

      bar.gif (4459 bytes)

August - October 2001 ~ End of Turn 36 through the middle of Turn 37, 10th Pass

Tieren and brown Seiranth transfer in from Igen Weyr.  Tarlo's Cariath rises in her maiden flight, caught by G'non's bronze Wydreth of High Reaches Weyr.  Saskia's Rinath takes to the skies not long after, her captor Aisheth, P'ter's bronze of Igen Weyr. The resultant (NPC) dragons from both clutches are all strong and healthy.  Weyrlingmaster Maylia is kept busy with all the groups, the Weyrlings of Herath and Chezroth's clutch graduating to full riders just in time, it would seem. A Gather is held at the Weyr the night of the ceremony, quite successful despite the heavy rains that threatened to damped spirits.

A'lex and Nraith return from Benden Weyr despite not seeming to be fully recovered.

Ceria had expressed a wish to spend more time with her son Icerain, and Macami, in need of an additional Wingsecond to work alongside with her and I'sai chose Talisha, Imanath's rider as Ceria's replacement. K'ryn and blue Tavorth, familiar faces to most, transfer in from Fort Weyr. In other Wing news, T'vor steps down as one of Dawnslight's three Wingseconds. Wingleader M'teh does not place anyone new into the position.

      bar.gif (4459 bytes)

November - December 2001 ~ End of Turn 37 to the middle of Turn 38, 10th Pass

With the recent rounds of sleet and snow at Telgar, and with it being spring and the weyr expecting the spring tithes soon, Head Steward Corwin went out to double-check the mountain passes to make sure the trains could get through. Yeah, he read the reports from the sweepriders that all the passes look fine, but Corwin's reply was they may appear to be fine from the air, but when you have men, beasts, and wagons tromping through snow and ice it could be completely different...So, Telgar's steward left on what he was saying was a 3-4 day trip, max. Problem was, he was gone a full sevenday.

On a hunch, Weyrlingmaster Maylia took some of the older clutch of weyrlings out on a sweep-riding practice, scouting over the common Tithe routes. It turned out to be more than they expected, comming closer to what one might expect flying with Fort's Search and Rescue. The first clue was a riderless runner, barely visible in the trees. Then one of the young dragons, a brown with good long-sight, caught sight of Corwin - good thing he was wearing something with bright colours, instead of just greys and browns. A ways off the path, and hidden mostly, it's not surprising that the regular sweepriders might've missed him. Corwin was returned to the Weyr. He was exhausted and hungry (all taken care of), suffering from exposure, and some broken bones.

Headwoman Shawnah takes an absence.   Nikki, originally of Telgar Hold and quite familiar with the Weyr, takes the position in her truancy.

Macami, brown Tivuketh's rider, steps down from her position of Wingleader for Skyfire, Zaidra and brown Ymedath nominated to lead the Wing in her place.

      bar.gif (4459 bytes)

January - February 2002 ~ End of Turn 38 to the middle of turn 39

Tarlo's Cariath takes to the skies in her second flight. The queen is caught by Telgar's Spineth, riden by Ursa who had served in a number of positions over the turns, including Weyrsecond.  Soon enough a clutch of twenty seven eggs finds its way to the Sands.

After a late-night bargaining spree between Wingleader and Weyrlingmaster - I'sai and Taralyth coasted off to Ista to give P'tod a hand with their upcoming weyrlings as one of two guest-AWLM pairs. The two are only on loan, a shortened loan if Maylia has her way, and it's said they have a mission to find out more about Ista's formations and current teaching styles.

Talisha steps down from her position of Wingsecond under Zaidra, Lenka named to take up the role for Skyfire Wing.

In the wee hours of turn 39, month 2, day 26, Daelyth surprises many in the Weyr by taking to the skies at such an unheavenly hour. Among the chasers were A'lex's bronze Nraith, J'ven's bronze Londoth, and K'ran's bronze Indrath from Telgar, and the lone 'Reachian, Mh'al's bronze Sidonth. Nraith was the only one of the three to drop out early--it's no secret that he's still recovering from the injuries that had A'lex step down in the first place. Finally, the deluge of snow slowed to a few flakes, and after a fast, furious flight, the startled Daelyth found herself caught by Mh'al's Sidonth, making Mh'al the latest 'Reachian to win the Weyrleader's knot away from home (M'llon having just a month before taking the Weyrleader knot at Ista Weyr).

      bar.gif (4459 bytes)

      March 2002 - June 2002 ~ Middle of turn 39 to turn 40, 10th Pass

Cariath and Spineth's clutch Hatches! Among the Impressees that day are Mirielle and green Peth, M'silne and blue Phoukath, Teryla and green Dariyath, Riane and green Yrinth, N'laren and green Susurrath and Yashira and brown Decarath. Maylia leads the Weyrlingmaster team in a position she has held for almost a fifteen turns now. Assisting her with this class are Ursa with brown Spineth, Flannery with green Tyrrath, Kichevio with green Saulith and I'sai with bronze Taralyth.

New to the Watchrider rotation are K'ran, Kindre, M'dei, Tarien and Tieren.

In a rather unexpected turn of events, Aurian threw her Weyrsecond knot in and kicked herself back to being a wingrider. As one of her duties, she had often been forced to meet with the Lord Holder of Telgar; its pretty much well known that she considered the man a lout and imbecile. However when he compared her appearance (as a compliment it seems) to a runners mighty haunches, that final line was crossed. She socked him in the jaw and stole off back to the Weyr. What resulted in the ensuing milieu was that as soon as she landed, she threw her knot at some defenseless LCG told the girl to give it to the Weyrleader as she won't be needing it anymore and immediately signed herself up for pre-dawn sweeps over the wastes. Later on after the event, the former Weyrsecond could be heard drunkenly singing about being free.

In the aftermath of green Yrinth's flight, when the living cavern had descended into drunkenness (on the part of some, anyway), the Weyrwoman and sole Weyrsecond made a visit to the festivities, seeking a particular person. Nimiriel handed off a new knot to K'ran, Dawnslight's Wingsecond, while J'lyn offered a welcome and a congratulations. Both beat a rather hasty retreat shortly thereafter, but not before bidding the newly tapped Weyrsecond to be sure to be on time for early drills the following morning.

      bar.gif (4459 bytes)

      July 2002 - Sep 2002 ~ Turn 40 - End of Turn 41, 10th Pass

Maylia, her turns of duty serving as Telgar's Weyrlingmaster finally having a toll, requests to be returned to the Fighting Wings. After extensive interviewing, Ursa and brown Spineth, who had previously served Telgar in a variety of positions over the turns including Weyrsecond as Assistant Weyrlingmaster, are named to lead and train the future Weyrling Wing.

Tarien's Mirrath finally made up her mind and rose into Telgar's skies on the evening of day 25, month 4, of Turn 41. Among others, she was chased by F'lone's Hroth, J'ven's Londoth, K'ran's Indrath, Kandri's Chaedanth, and Sria's Sruth, but in the end, it was K'ran's bronze Indrath who won the day. Within a few sevenday, 29 eggs sit warming on Telgar's sands awaiting their new lifemates.

Almost an exact month after Mirrath's flight, Daelyth, Senior Weyrwoman Nimiriel's queen, takes to the skies on Day 21, Month 5, Turn 41. Surprisingly, however, she is not caught by Mh'al's Sidonth. N'var's Palineth catches instead, making the Igen pair Telgar's new Weyrleaders. N'var had previously spent time at Telgar for Daelyth's first flight at Telgar at the end of Turn 27.

      Oct 2002 ~ Beginning of Turn 42, 10th Pass

Zaidra, needing to take a brief hiatus from Skyfire, puts I'sai in the position of Acting Wingleader and F'lone as Acting Wingsecond for a time.

At nearly sixty-four turns of age, J'lyn decides to step down as Weyrsecond of Telgar.

Mirrath and Indrath's clutch hatches! Among the many weyrling pairs made are: Bianca and green Liraneth, Cheni and green Irenyath, M'rten (Marten) and green Mariloth, Shawnah and green Alyonth, Alonna and blue Silyath, Elauren and blue Braerith, R'var (Rivaar) and blue Firianth, A'ran (Makran) and brown Orvieth, R'yk (Ryklin) and brown Yariath and Saeliena and brown Ciryath. Ursa's selects I'sai and Bronze Taralyth, P'tod and Brown Semeth and Yashira and Brown Decarath to serve as her first Assistant Weyrlingmasters.
