Proposed Hatching Schedule -   Jan 1999 through Nov 2008

Below are list the tentative dates of the next several Hatchings at each of the five Weyrs on PernMUSH. These dates are provided so that those seeking Candidacy at a specific Weyr can plan accordingly.

The Weyr Council reserves the right to adjust this schedule as needed due to unanticipated problems which may occur. These dates are listed in a range which is a ten day period during which the Weyr anticipates having their Hatching. Please note that the dates listed below are for the Hatching - the Weyr is likely to start OOC Search four to six weeks prior to the listed date.

The following givens apply:

1) Hatching "windows" are 10 days.

2) There are six weeks available to each Weyr in which to plan their Flight, Clutching and Hatching.

What I have been able to do (in addition to keeping the criteria that each Weyr seems to prefer) is schedule the January Hatching window at the near end of the month.  While this does not eliminate Jan altogether, it does give the Weyr more "breathing room."  Also, each Weyr now rotates the Jan Hatching evenly.  The last Hatching of each calendar year occurs before Thanksgiving so as to eliminate problems around that holiday as well.

There is still the "necessary evil" of two Weyrs being "skipped" each calendar year. That is to say that three Weyrs each hold two Hatchings within the calendar year while two Weyrs only have one.  This does, however, rotate fairly evenly as indicated by the chart at the bottom.  The reason I went all the way to the year 2008 is because that was how long it took to rotate through two full cycles and be sure the pattern held.
