Kindre ~ A Summary
Born and raised at Half Circle Seahold in a decent-sized family (there is a tree here), Kindre spent most of her youth doing chores
and growing. Travelling to the Seacraft with her brother when she was only fifteen turns,
she found herself face to muzzle with Zibrith, a green dragon whose rider Ely asked her if
she'd Stand for Benden Weyr. She arrived to the achient Weyr via a Searchdragon when she
was barely sixteen. Impressing the rather hauty gold Herath at sixteen and a half turns,
Kindre grew quite a bit with the pairing. Mostly a quiet young woman when she first
stepped foot into Benden's bowl, she became a bit more relaxed and at ease in her home
despite the occassional curveballs that still popped up now and again. A rather petite
woman in size, she nonetheless manages to make her presence known. Never one to turn down
an opportunity for an adventure, Kindre also possesses a serious spirit; she knows the
difference between work and play, and acts accordingly. Perhaps that's the holdbred girl
within her, or the strict teachings of Weyrlinghood. Anyone who knows her well knows that
her eyes are where you look to derrive her true feelings. Strong from turns of riding and
related duties, overall Kindre was very happy while at Benden Weyr.
Time, and Pern, change. G'mort, the stubborn Weyrleader at Telgar Weyr, and Benna, a kind, wonderful woman who was also beyond her turns, slowly but surely let Telgar slip from their fingers like sands slipping from a new hatchling's shard. Kindre found herself at Telgar frequently as a junior weyrwoman, trying to regain the upkeep of the records. Benna, too tired to mend them and Thregga, their only other goldrider, too young at twelve turns to really even comprehend the task, welcomed Kindre as much as any at Telgar welcomed the intrusion of outside help. Soon, though, it was decided Telgar needed new leadership, golds, and guidence. Kindre found herself, along with a few of Benden's Wings, transferred to Telgar Weyr to try to recapture the spirit that the old Weyr still had lurking within its caverns. She and Herath found themselves in chillier winds and a new Weyr they were to call home.
Pern never ceases to spin, nor does that of Kindre's life. A few turns after Telgar was "settled into" by the former Bendenites, Jehrina retired as Sr. Weyrwoman. Herath and her rider quickly found themselves in another new situation when the gold launched into the skies. Favored to win and remain as the Weyrleader pair, bronze Prometh and his rider, K'tyn, also Kindre's weyrmate, were as surprised as the rest of Telgar when young Istan M'hryn and his Talibenth caught Herath in her first flight as the senior gold. Twice Talibenth managed to twine with Herath before M'hryn disappeared. Rumors still flutter about the caverns that the former-Weyrleader pair are somewhere *between* times. If anyone knows for sure, they've yet to say.
With Talibenth and M'hryn absent for longer than she could handle, Kindre appointed then-Weyrsecond A'lex as Acting Weyrleader until Herath rose again. Much to Nraith's rider's dismay, the gold did not wait long. In a flight that roused the Weyr in the wee hours of dawn, A'lex's Nraith caught Herath and he became Telgar's Weyrleader in full. After several turns leading Telgar, an act of fate during Threadfall, mayhaps, changed Kindre and Herath's lives. Considering the health of her dragon and the needs of the Weyr, Kindre, along with A'lex and Nimiriel, decided that retiring her position would be in the best interests of all involved. And so, at just past thirty-three turns, Kindre became the last of the Benden queenriders who made the move to Telgar to lead the Weyr. Even the surprising rising of Herath on the last day of the 35th turn didn't really surprise Kin, knowing her lifemate. They likely will have many more astonishing adventures even in their later turns.
